A Calgary man has been charged following a Cochrane RCMP probe into a suspected overdose death earlier this month in the Mînî Thnî area of the Stoney Nakoda Nations.
Randall Arsenault, 58, faces charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Arsenault was arrested in Calgary on October 29th after a joint investigation between the Cochrane RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and the Calgary Police Service’s Gang Suppression Team.
Approximately 69.5 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized during the arrest.
The investigation started in early October when Cochrane RCMP responded to a suspected overdose death in Mînî Thnî.
The CRU initiated a probe to track down the source of the drugs involved, which led authorities to Arsenault in Calgary.
