Mel Tracina will take the helm as the new host of Big Brother Australia 2025, bringing sharp wit, bold opinions, and unexpected twists to the show. The series, which captivated audiences in the early 2000s with its mix of drama, humor, and genuine human connection, is making a comeback at its original venue, Dreamworld.
Now aged 36, radio host and TV personality Mel Tracina is stepping into a role previously held by Sonia Kruger and Gretel Killeen. She aims to infuse the show with warmth, relatability, and humor as she prepares for the new season.
"I love how hyped Aussies are for the show to return. It feels a bit surreal as well, just because it’s a show I grew up watching, so it’s that full-circle moment."
Reflecting on the legacy of past hosts, Mel said:
"I know that I’m going to be the bearer of bad news for a lot of the housemates, because I’ll be there to bring them nominations and evictions, but I really want to be more of like a bestie to them – someone that’s a little bit nicer than Big Brother, who’s gonna be giving them all the tasks and taking away all their luxuries."
She expressed enthusiasm about the show's return and the role she will play, balancing the tough aspects of hosting with a friendly approach to the contestants.
Mel Tracina returns as Big Brother Australia's host, blending sharp insight and empathy to revive a cherished reality series for a new generation.
