The iconic reality show Big Brother Australia will make its comeback on Channel 10 in 2025. Viewers can look forward to discovering its contestants, filming location, and premiere date soon.
Show host Mel Tracina shared insights about the upcoming season, noting that details about the contestants remain closely guarded, as the final line-up is still being finalized.
“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan,”
Mel explained, adding that the participants come from an impressive mix of backgrounds.
“We have blue-collar workers and white-collar workers. We have a diverse range.”
Big Brother first premiered in 2001 and ran for eight seasons until 2008. Channel Nine revived it in 2012 for three seasons before the format moved to Channel Seven, where it lasted five more seasons. The show was canceled in 2024 following low ratings.
On September 16, 2024, Network 10 confirmed the show’s return, promising a renewed energy and format that embraces diversity and inclusiveness.
“You don’t need to fit certain criteria to be in the house,”
said Mel, highlighting the show’s inclusive nature.
“You don’t need to be physically or mentally strong, like you would on Survivor. You don’t need to be single, like you would on MAFS.”
The revival of Big Brother Australia on Channel 10 in 2025 introduces a fresh, inclusive cast and promises to bring renewed energy to a beloved television phenomenon.
