The Han River Bus will restart service with its first departure at 9:00 a.m. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has introduced the My Ship system, which assigns each crew member to a specific vessel to boost passenger safety and improve operational efficiency.
Only captains who have completed over three months of training will be assigned to regular operations. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a series of trial runs without passengers took place for one month to collect operational data, stabilize performance, and enhance crew skills.
During these trial runs, three accidents occurred. The Seoul Metropolitan Government clarified that these incidents were caused by crew inexperience rather than mechanical faults or environmental issues.
"All incidents were due to a lack of proficiency rather than mechanical defects or environmental factors, and these issues do not pose a problem for the resumption of operations."
Corrective measures were promptly identified and implemented following each accident to ensure safe operations.
