Antonio Brown Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge in Miami

Antonio Brown, former Central Michigan University and NFL star, was arrested in Dubai and transported to Newark, New Jersey. He is currently awaiting extradition to Miami on an attempted murder charge, confirmed by Miami Police.

Background of the Incident

The charge relates to an event on May 16, when shots were fired after a celebrity boxing match in Miami. Brown was briefly detained at the time but released after providing his account.

“I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED,” Brown stated on social media.

Developments and Charges

According to an AP report from June, Brown was later named in an arrest warrant. He is accused of grabbing a handgun from a security staffer and firing two shots at a man he had fought earlier that night.

The victim told investigators that one of the bullets grazed his neck.

Miami Police Statement

On the evening of November 6, Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales confirmed Brown's custody in Newark, where Miami PD met him. Brown will soon be extradited to Miami to face charges linked to the shooting in Little Haiti.

“Let this serve as a clear message; no matter who you are or where you run, we will pursue the facts, identify you, locate you, and bring you to justice,” Morales wrote.

Antonio Brown faces serious legal consequences following an alleged shooting incident after a Miami boxing event.
