Toronto Powers Up 500 EV Chargers for Electric Future

The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have reached a significant milestone by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station within Canada’s largest municipally owned network. This new charger is located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., further expanding EV access across Toronto.

Partnership Driving EV Infrastructure Growth

Toronto Hydro and TPA have collaborated since 2020 to grow the city's EV charging infrastructure. Toronto Hydro initially launched the network before transferring ownership to TPA in 2023.

“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.

Focus on Accessibility and Adoption

TPA President Scott Collier emphasized the importance of this expansion for enhancing accessibility and promoting electric vehicle adoption city-wide.

“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” he stated.
