“As of November first, my dad gained his wings. Everything that’s me is him.”
The rapper died from a brain aneurysm. Although he had no major health problems, he suffered from high blood pressure and was on medication to manage it.
Born Glenn Reed Clifton Jr. on June 6, 1974, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Young Bleed began rapping at the age of nine. In 1995, he joined forces with four fellow Baton Rouge rappers—C-Loc, Max Minelli, J-Von, and Chris Hamilton (J-Von’s younger brother)—to form the group Concentration Camp.
Young Bleed gained national recognition when his song "How You Do That" with C-Loc was released in 1997. Master P of No Limit Records remixed the track, helping it reach wider audiences. His success peaked with a No. 1 position on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop album charts the following year.
