Sony Expands Cloud Gaming on PlayStation Portal
Cloud gaming continues to thrive despite the decline of Google's Stadia project. Sony has enhanced its PlayStation Portal handheld by enabling cloud gaming access for all users.
PlayStation Portal Overview
The PlayStation Portal is a handheld device similar in concept to the Steam Deck, but it does not operate independently. Instead, it streams games from a connected PlayStation 5 console. To increase the device's versatility, Sony has now integrated cloud gaming capabilities.
New Cloud Gaming Features
- PlayStation Portal users can now stream select digital PS5 games from their own library without needing a PS5 console connection via Remote Play.
- A range of PlayStation games is available through cloud streaming on PlayStation Plus.
- The device software has been updated to include a new “Cloud Streaming home screen” and a search function for easier game navigation.
