On Thursday, the National Weather Service announced a dense fog advisory that remains active until 10 a.m. Friday. The warning covers Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, and Jackson County.
“Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.”
The agency cautions that such low visibility can create dangerous driving conditions:
“If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.”
A dense fog advisory is issued when widespread fog reduces visibility to a quarter mile or less. These conditions pose risks for drivers, so officials recommend staying off the roads if possible.
Southern Oregon faces a dense fog advisory through Friday morning, urging motorists to slow down, use low beams, and drive cautiously due to sharply reduced visibility.
