Livinia Nixon, the beloved weather presenter known for her start on Hey Hey, It’s Saturday, is concluding her role as Nine’s long-time weather presenter after 20 years. She will continue to appear on the travel shows Getaway and Postcards.
End of an Era
Speaking on the announcement, Nixon, 50, reflected on her career with a smile:
“I’ve been on air for more of my life than I’ve not. I’m looking forward to a breather.”
She chose to stop her weeknight weather briefings to devote more time to her family, especially as her youngest child, Ted, begins high school alongside his older brother Henry. Nixon described the decision as difficult but necessary.

She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with viewers nightly, saying presenting the weather has deeply influenced her life and career:
“Presenting the weather has shaped my life and career. I owe this role everything but this is the right decision for me.”

“When I discussed it with our boys, they said ‘we’re pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum’.”

Among her memorable live segments was a broadcast from Healesville Sanctuary, where she had a green tree python draped around her neck. The snake’s grip tightened, and it attempted to slither into her jacket, prompting Nixon to recall:
“I’d never read the weather as quickly in my life.”
