9News Melbourne will say goodbye to one of its most cherished faces this November as Livinia Nixon, the city's beloved weather presenter, prepares to depart on November 18. She first joined the network in 1997 and has served as the 9News Melbourne weather presenter since 2004.

Announcing Her Departure

The 50-year-old announced her decision on Friday, explaining that she wants to prioritize her family as her sons begin their senior schooling years.

"After 20 years presenting weather on 9News, I've decided to step back from this role," Livinia said. "My sons will both be in high school and I want to be there to support them. It's been a privilege to be welcomed into viewers' homes for so long, but this is the right time for my family."

Reflecting on Her Career

Livinia expressed gratitude for the role that has defined much of her life and career.

"Presenting the weather has shaped my life and career. I owe this role everything but this is the right decision for me," she stated.

When she discussed her plans with her sons, they responded eagerly about spending more time together.

"When I discussed it with our boys, they said, 'We're pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum.'"

Future Plans

Although Livinia is stepping down from her weeknight weather presenter role, she will continue to be part of the Nine Network.
