Singer Tish Hyman reported that her membership at a Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles was revoked after she raised concerns about a transgender woman using the women’s locker room. Hyman described her experience as the "worst" and shared details on social media.
Following Hyman's complaint, the gym has been inundated with over two dozen one-star Google reviews within 24 hours. Many reviewers specifically referenced the locker-room controversy.
The Gold’s Gym branch involved is located at Beverly Center and was recently acquired by EoS Fitness, according to local reports. Newsweek reached out to the gym via their website’s contact form but did not provide a public comment.
"Today I was naked in the locker room. I turned around, and there was a man there."
This situation highlights the ongoing national debate in the United States over transgender rights and women’s privacy in public spaces, a topic that remains highly contentious.
Since January, President Donald Trump has issued several executive orders aimed at transgender issues, including one titled “Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports,” which threatens to withdraw funding from educational programs permitting transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports.
This dispute at Gold’s Gym over transgender locker room use reflects the wider, heated national discussion about transgender rights and protections in public spaces.
