This November, residents of Calgary have a special opportunity to adopt a new furry companion for a lower cost. The City of Calgary’s Animal Services Centre has announced reduced adoption fees for cats and dogs for the entire month, aiming to help more animals find loving homes before winter arrives.
“Every adoption gives an animal a second chance and opens space in our shelter for others who need help,” said Kathleen Dickson, Coordinator of Animal Care and Clinic Services. “We hope this price reduction encourages more Calgarians to come meet the incredible pets waiting for homes.”
All adopted animals from the Animal Services Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked, and come with a one-year City of Calgary pet license. These measures ensure every pet is healthy, identifiable, and ready to begin their new life safely.
“If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them,” added Dickson. “Bring pets indoors, provide warm bedding, and limit outdoor time when temperatures drop.”
Adoptions take place at the Animal Services Centre, located at 2201 Portland Street S.E. The facility is open seven days a week.
