The 2026 Grammy nominations, announced on Friday, November 7, highlight major record labels competing in the industry’s top honors. Interscope and Island Records emerged as front-runners, boasting multiple nominees across the biggest categories.
Within the four premier categories — Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist — Interscope achieved the most nominations, earning eight out of 32 available slots. This success strengthened Universal Music Group’s position with a total of 21 nods among those same categories.
Because of its broader structure, Interscope Capitol’s tally rose even higher to 13 nominations. That figure includes contributions from several affiliated imprints: Capitol (two nominations), Motown (two nominations), and the HYBE/Geffen partnership that represents KATSEYE (one nomination). This marks the fifth time in the last eight years that Interscope has topped the Grammy label rankings.
Island Records followed in second with six nominations, also achieving several notable milestones across major Grammy categories.
“Interscope Capitol led the way with 13 total nominations in the Big Four categories — its fifth time leading among labels in the past eight years.”
Interscope retained its reputation as a Grammy powerhouse in 2026, while Island secured a strong runner-up position with several standout nominations.
