A girl known as Child C1 tried to escape a Taylor Swift-themed dance class before Axel Rudakubana pulled her back and stabbed her 33 times. The family of a survivor of the Southport stabbings has condemned the killer's parents for their 'neglectful' and 'cowardly' behavior in failing to prevent the attack that killed three young girls.
Child C1's parents stated the attack was the result of repeated failures and missed opportunities by various agencies and individuals. They specifically criticized Rudakubana’s parents, calling their behavior “reprehensible, neglectful and cowardly.”
“He [Rudakubana] should have never got to them; and every moment, right up until the second he did, someone could and should have stopped him. This should never have happened.”
The family highlighted the stark contrast between those who acted against Rudakubana and the inaction of those who had contact with him before the attack.
At the Southport Inquiry, Rudakubana’s father, Alphonse, 49, addressed the victims' families and called his youngest son a “monster” who killed their “beautiful angels.”
The Southport stabbing victim’s family condemns the killer’s parents for their failures in preventing the tragic attack that claimed three young lives and seriously injured others.
