Two Moray councillors have earned top recognition at this year’s Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) and CCLA Cllr Awards, the only national awards ceremony celebrating the work of councillors across the UK.
These awards honour exceptional leadership and innovation within local government, showcasing how councillors positively influence their communities.
Judges commended Cllr Robertson for her “clear vision, collaborative working style and delivery for communities.”
Cllr Macrae was recognised for bringing “fresh ideas that deliver real results.”
Cllr Amber Dunbar was also shortlisted for the Young Councillor of the Year Award, one of only four nominees across the UK to achieve this distinction.
“It’s wonderful to see Moray represented at a national level. These awards highlight the commitment of our councillors to serving their communities and demonstrate the positive impact that local government can have across the region,” said Moray Council Chief Executive Karen Greaves.
“I’m honoured to receive this award, which really reflects the strength of teamwork across Moray Council. I’m fortunate to work alongside passionate councillors, officers, and community partners who share the same goal – improving life for people across Moray,” added Cllr Kathleen Robertson.
