“Art, culture and community engagement are key priorities in the City of Brantford’s Inclusive City Strategy,” said Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “Fusion Beats is an opportunity for local performers to shine while celebrating the diversity that makes our city so vibrant.”

Now in its third year, Fusion Beats attracts hundreds of attendees from both the university campus and the wider community.

Performers and Highlights

The event features an eclectic mix of performers, including community groups and students. Styles range from line dancing to Hindi rap.

“As exciting as it is performing at Fusion Beats, I also look forward to hearing and seeing the other musicians and performers,” said Akhil Prabhu, a Laurier student and self-taught classical guitarist, who will appear for the second time with a set of Latin and flamenco rhythms.
