China urges Netherlands against 'interference' in chipmaker Nexperia case

China Urges the Netherlands to Avoid Interference in Nexperia Case

China called on the Netherlands to handle the chipmaker Nexperia issue responsibly and stop intervening in the company's internal matters. The Chinese Commerce Ministry criticized a Dutch administrative order from September 30 as improper interference.

A spokesperson highlighted that a subsequent Dutch court ruling stripped Chinese companies of their equity, significantly violating their rights and interests.

“The Dutch government disregarded demands by the Chinese side, failed to show a constructive attitude or actions, and further worsened the global supply chain crisis.”

On October 26, Nexperia Netherlands halted wafer supplies to Nexperia China, disrupting the latter's operations and creating turmoil in the worldwide semiconductor supply chain.

In response, China announced on November 1 export exemptions for certain cases to help Nexperia China's unit resume supplies, underscoring its commitment to the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain.
