Hilary Duff makes shocking revelation about her 2003 hit - Daily Times

Hilary Duff Reveals Surprising Memory Gap About Her 2003 Hit

Hilary Duff recently shared unexpected details about her famous song, What Dreams Are Made Of, from The Lizzie McGuire Movie. On November 5, during an interview on Therapuss with Jake Shane, she admitted to having almost no recollection of recording the track.

Details About the Song and Filming Experience

“I don’t even remember recording that song. And when I was filming the movie, I loved it. It was just – it was a weird time.”

Duff also clarified that the song wasn’t technically hers but was attributed to her character, Lizzie McGuire. She recalled some standout moments during the production but said many memories remain fuzzy.

“Some of the like, being in Italy for Lizzie McGuire, but then the rest of it filmed in Vancouver. I could barely remember any of that stuff.”

Relationship to the Song and Performance

Duff mentioned that she now feels joy when singing the song, which contrasts with the emotional distance she experienced between herself, her music, and the Lizzie McGuire character at the time.

“Actually, when I sing it now, I feel a lot of joy. I just think that there was such a separation back then of me and my music and Lizzie McGuire.”

Because Duff didn’t own the rights to What Dreams Are Made Of, she revealed she wasn’t able to perform it live during that period.

Summary

Hilary Duff recalls little about recording her 2003 hit, feeling then detached from the song and character, but now experiences joy when revisiting the beloved track.
