Hilary Duff has returned to music with her first original single in a decade. The actress and singer released her new track “Mature,” co-written and produced by her husband Matthew Koma, along with songwriter Madison Love. The release is accompanied by a visually rich music video that captures the introspective tone of the song.
“Mature” marks Duff’s first new music since her 2015 album Breathe In. Breathe Out. The single revisits her pop-rock roots and blends nostalgia with self-reflection through thoughtful lyrics that explore her past and personal growth over the years.
“She looks like all of your girls but blonder / A little like me just younger / Bet she loves when she hears you say / You’re so mature for your age, babe.”
“‘Mature’ is a little conversation that my present self is having with my younger self,” Duff said in a statement.
