Jake Shane, the 26-year-old host of the “Therapuss” podcast, has been announced as the star and executive producer of a new Hulu comedy based on his life, according to Variety.
Expressing his excitement, Jake wrote on Instagram:
“a dream come true with the team of my dreams…thank you 🥲”
The series is being developed by Disney-owned 20th Television and will feature Jake playing a version of himself. It will explore how he and his best friends handle the challenges of sudden online fame, the impact on their friendships, and the tensions that arise within their suburban neighborhood.
Genevieve Aniello, known for writing on The Other Two and producing Hacks, will executive produce and write the pilot episode. Paul Briganti is attached as director and executive producer.
