Dusan Vlahovic’s contract with Juventus expires at the end of the season, yet new head coach Luciano Spalletti insists the striker intends to remain with the club. Spalletti, preparing for his second match in charge when Juventus face Sporting CP in the Champions League, expressed optimism about working with the Serbian forward.
In his debut match on Saturday, Spalletti guided Juventus to a 2-1 victory over Cremonese in Serie A. Vlahovic participated in that game without scoring but remains the team’s top scorer this season with five goals across all competitions.
“Dusan has a slight advantage because he's used to the pressure of wearing such an important shirt,” Spalletti said. “I spoke to him several times during training. He would be delighted to stay here. He's not worried about his contract; he only wants to play football.”
The summer had seen speculation about a potential transfer for Vlahovic, but Spalletti’s comments suggest the striker feels settled in Turin.
Following Igor Tudor’s departure after an eight-game winless streak, Juventus have won their first two matches under Spalletti’s leadership. When asked what had changed since his arrival, Spalletti explained:
“They're very disciplined; we didn’t need to bring any order. The best rule is common sense. Rules have always been there at Juventus. I'm trying to get to know the team better and give them some directions.”
Spalletti reaffirmed his faith in Vlahovic’s commitment to Juventus, describing the striker as focused on football rather than contracts while restoring discipline and confidence to the team.
