Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams has unveiled the 20th and final track from her third solo album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. The song, titled "Showbiz", contains reflective lyrics about tension and uncertainty in the spotlight.
On November 7th, Williams officially released "Showbiz," completing the album's unique rollout. Prior to this, 17 tracks were released individually on a free website, gradually shaping the full project.
The release of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party sparked rumors about Paramore's status. Many speculated the album might confirm the band's breakup, but Williams reassured fans the group is merely “on a break.”
“May never happen again / Stings like sweat on broken skin / And it’s never enough / Tastes like the whole ocean / Exit stage left / What might be the end / Showbiz, showbiz.”
The meaning of what is "ending" in the lyrics remains ambiguous.
In the penultimate track, "Good Ol’ Days," Williams refers to herself as “Miss Paramore,” signaling that the band she started at 15 still holds importance for her and may continue.
“She has confessed feeling she had been ‘blamed for all the shit’ that led to various hiatuses.”
The album also alludes to her recent personal changes, including the end of her relationship with Paramore's guitarist.
Hayley Williams concludes her album’s release with a poignant single blending personal reflection and uncertainty about the future of her band and career.
