Vertical Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for Rosemead, a forthcoming drama adapted from Frank Shyong’s powerful 2017 column in the Los Angeles Times. Directed by Eric Lin, the film features Lucy Liu as an ailing mother drawn into a desperate struggle to protect her troubled son from his deepening obsessions.
The story, inspired by real events, follows a woman confronting impossible decisions as her son’s behavior grows increasingly dangerous. Set within the tense backdrop of a Chinese American community, the film explores how far a mother will go to protect her child — and what she must ultimately sacrifice.
“Rosemead is a gripping portrait of a family pushed to the edge.”
Alongside Lucy Liu, the cast includes Lawrence Shou, Orion Lee, Jennifer Lim, Madison Hu, and James Chen. Rosemead is scheduled for release on December 5.
