Nominations for the 68th annual Grammy Awards were revealed in November, highlighting major achievements in recorded music released between August and July. The ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will air on CBS, with streaming available live and on demand via Paramount+.
The Broadway community once again earned recognition at music’s most prestigious event. In particular, the Best Musical Theater Album category drew significant attention this year.
More than forty albums were submitted for consideration in this category, reflecting the growing vibrancy of musical theater recordings. The award recognizes both production quality and performance excellence in theater music.
The producers of the original Broadway cast recording — Marco Paguia, Dean Sharenow, and David Yazbek — are nominated on behalf of Buena Vista Social Club. Paguia, who also served as orchestrator, arranger, and music director, earned the 2025 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations and a Special Tony as part of the onstage band. Yazbek worked as a creative consultant, while Sharenow oversaw the music as supervisor.
