Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife Kayla announced the heartbreaking death of their baby daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, who passed away on October 26th.
In a joint Instagram post, the couple expressed their sorrow and gratitude:
"Our little angel we love you forever & you’re with us always. Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her."
Alex Vesia, 29, was absent from the Dodgers' World Series roster due to a leave of absence for personal reasons.
The couple acknowledged the support they received:
"Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them. We have seen ALL your messages, comments and posts. It’s brought us so much comfort. Lastly, we’d like to thank Cedars Sinai and all the medical staff who helped Kayla and Sterling. Every person we came across was truly so incredible."
The cause of Sterling's death was not disclosed. The couple had announced their pregnancy in April.
This heartbreaking announcement reflects the couple's grief and the strong support network surrounding them during this devastating time.
