Colorado State football couldn’t recover from recent struggles despite a bye week, suffering a decisive 42-10 home loss to UNLV on Saturday. The team, plagued by injuries and roster turnover, struggled to establish stability or rhythm over the course of the season.
The speed and explosiveness of the Rebels’ offense repeatedly broke through CSU’s defense. UNLV capitalized on nearly every opportunity, turning routine plays into game-changing moments.
CSU opened the game strong, leading in total yards and turnovers early on. Their opening drive lasted nearly six minutes and ended in a 75-yard touchdown across 13 plays. However, after the first quarter, their consistency faltered and the Rebels took full control.
“Every snap felt like a home run waiting to happen.”
Although the performance was less severe than the previous 28-0 Border War loss, it still underscored the Rams’ struggles and diminished hopes for bowl eligibility.
The Rams began with promise but crumbled under UNLV’s relentless offense, leaving their postseason hopes nearly out of reach.
