Mark Richt, 65, who served as the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs from 2001 to 2015, has denied rumors about being hospitalized.
“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”
Richt experienced a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021.
During his tenure at Georgia, he achieved a 145–51 record, won two SEC championships, and secured nine bowl victories. After leaving Georgia, Richt coached at his alma mater, Miami, from 2016 to 2018.
Summary: Mark Richt clarifies false reports of hospitalization, maintaining his presence despite health challenges including a heart attack and Parkinson’s diagnosis.
