Alternative F1 commentary on offer

Alternative F1 Commentary Now Available for Australian Fans

For the first time beyond the Australian Grand Prix, local fans can tune in to an alternative Formula 1 commentary tonight. The F1TV coverage will be accessible in Australia, with Foxtel and Kayo streaming it alongside the usual Sky Sports F1 broadcast, which has served as the global feed since 2012.

New Voices Behind the Mic

The F1TV commentary will be led by Alex Jacques, known for his decade-long work calling Formula 2 and Formula 3 races. His energetic call of Charles Leclerc’s 2024 Monaco Grand Prix triumph gained wide praise from fans.

Joining Jacques is former Formula 1 driver Jolyon Palmer. Since departing Renault in 2017, Palmer has developed into a respected analyst through his work with BBC Radio and F1TV.

Expanded Coverage Team

Additional contributors to F1TV’s coverage include Laura Winter, Lawrence Barretto, and James Hinchcliffe, who will handle pre- and post-race segments.

Broadcast Details

The new F1TV stream begins at 3:55 a.m. AEDT, five minutes before the race start. This alternative feed will continue throughout the season, covering upcoming rounds in Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.

David Croft and Martin Brundle’s well-known Sky TV commentary will remain available for viewers who prefer the traditional broadcast.
