The Government Rewrites the History of January 6

Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave by the Justice Department, and references to the January 6 Capitol events have been removed from court filings (“Justice Department strips Jan. 6 references from court paper and punishes prosecutor who filed it,” pressdemocrat.com). This implies that, according to the government, the event is treated as if it never occurred.

Countries that have rewritten or chosen to forget their histories include Russia, Hungary, China, and Germany. What else might the Justice Department want us to forget? For me, that would be the idea of the “land of the free and home of the brave.” If this description is discarded, then what future remains?

Another Audit Isn’t the Answer for Santa Rosa Schools

Teachers and staff at Santa Rosa City Schools are pushing for another audit of the district’s accounts (“Teachers union rallies for outside audit,” Nov.). However, audits only confirm whether spending and balances are properly accounted for—they don’t assess the necessity or effectiveness of expenditures. Audits require significant time and resources, which teachers, staff, and the district currently lack.

Having reviewed the district’s finances over the years, I can say audits have consistently shown near-perfect results. These formal audits usually take about six months. A few years ago, I obtained detailed financial records via the Public Records Act and carefully examined the numbers.

Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave by the Justice Department and their references to the Jan. Capitol expunged from court filings.
An audit only determines whether spending and balances are properly accounted for. An audit doesn’t determine whether spending is needed or effective.

Author’s summary: The letters highlight concerns about the erasure of January 6 from official records and question the value of another audit in Santa Rosa schools, emphasizing accountability and historical truth.
