Hollywood icon Sally Kirkland, age 84, is currently in hospice care following a challenging year marked by serious health issues. Her representative, Michael Greene, informed the Daily Mail that Kirkland has been diagnosed with dementia over the past year and is now at a hospice in a Palm Springs hospital.
According to a GoFundMe page created to support Kirkland's medical expenses, the actress suffered fractures to four bones including her neck, right wrist, and left hip. During her recovery, she contracted two separate life-threatening infections.

The injuries and infections led to extensive hospitalizations and rehabilitation, exceeding the 100 days covered by insurance.
Michael Greene is traveling from JFK Airport to be with Kirkland and said,
"She will not go until I’m holding her hand."
Her close friend and former student, Cody Galloway, is currently by her side at the hospice center.
