First Look: The 2027 Kia Telluride Gets a Luxury Upgrade
The all-new 2027 Kia Telluride, a hugely popular and well-regarded SUV, exudes strong Range Rover inspirations. With Hyundai unveiling its new-generation Palisade this year, the updated Kia Telluride was expected soon. The full reveal is scheduled for the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Design and Size Enhancements
The 2027 Telluride, shown early in the off-road-ready X-Pro trim, is larger than before:
- Length increased by 2.3 inches
- Height increased by 1 inch
- Wheelbase extended nearly 3 inches for more interior space
Kia designers describe the styling as “unapologetically boxy,” yet the influence of the Range Rover’s smoothly rounded silhouette is evident. Compared to the Palisade, the Telluride features softer sides and vertical taillights, emulating Range Rover’s flush door handles that pop out when unlocked.
Front Lighting and Grille
The Telluride retains a vertical front lighting arrangement that emphasizes amber park, turn, and daytime running lights. The LED headlights are reduced to a small unit that nearly disappears into the grille when off. The grille on the X-Pro trim is unique, composed of black rectangles that offer an unusual, somewhat puzzling look.
“Unapologetically boxy,” say Kia designers, with styling nods to Range Rover’s profile and door handles.
The new Telluride blends bold, squared design cues with luxury touches to elevate its presence on the road.
