2027 Kia Telluride Preview: The Sequel’s Even Better

The redesigned Telluride brings enhanced style, more space, and advanced technology. However, no test drives or technical details about the engine have been shared yet. Kia plans to unveil more information at the upcoming Los Angeles International Auto Show.

This model skips the 2025 version and goes straight to 2027, arriving at dealers in the first quarter of 2026. The original Telluride was well-received, praised for its combination of upscale and rugged design that resembled a more affordable Range Rover. Its boxy, tough look was boosted in 2023 with the addition of X-Line and X-Pro models, the latter offering serious off-road capabilities.

Design Evolution and Features

Tom Kearns, head of Kia Design Center America (KDCA), explained the design vision behind the new Telluride:

“We envisioned the all-new Telluride as the perfect vehicle to drive to a luxury ski resort. It would be imposing, but upscale, luxurious and with restraint … the result is an entirely new, chiseled exterior design that retains a boxy, honest SUV presence. It's a larger vehicle, gaining 2.3 inches of length, with the wheelbase extending by almost 3 inches. It allows for a roomier interior, easier ingress and egress and improved ride quality.”

Unlike usual practice where designers work within fixed engineering parameters, there was some back and forth collaboration between the design and engineering teams for this model.

Key Improvements

The new Telluride continues its blend of ruggedness and luxury, appealing to buyers seeking both style and functionality.
