FanDuel, in partnership with CME Group, will launch a new standalone mobile app called FanDuel Predicts in December 2025. This app is aimed at users in U.S. states where online sports betting is not yet legal, allowing them to trade event contracts on various outcomes.
The app will provide trading markets for major sports events including baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, subject to regulatory approvals. Additionally, users can trade contracts on financial benchmarks such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 indices, prices of oil, gas, gold, cryptocurrencies, and key economic indicators like GDP and CPI.
Event contract prices will range from $0.01 to $0.99, and there will be educational resources within the app to help users understand prediction markets and make informed trading decisions. Safety tools to help users manage risk and monitor their spending will also be available.
The app targets states where online sports betting is not legal. If those states later legalize sports betting, FanDuel will discontinue offering event contracts there and switch to standard sports wagering. Sports contracts will not be offered on tribal lands.
