Author and Hoover fellow Dan Wang spoke at a well-attended session facilitated by Stanford Abundance and the Society for International Affairs.
During the session, Stanford Abundance co-president Victoria Ren '26 asked the audience, "Who here wants to own a house in their lifetime?" Almost everyone raised their hands.
"Not a ton of people at Stanford are necessarily thinking, I want to build something that is going to help my society,"
said Stanford Abundance co-president Shreya Mehta '26, highlighting the need for a shift in cultural work ethics.
The speaker session, "America's Lawyers vs. China's Engineers," provided attendees with new insights into how cultural work ethics impact policy and people's lives.
