A nor'easter brought heavy rain and high winds to the Tri-State area over the weekend and continued on Monday.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County, while New Jersey also declared a state of emergency.
The National Weather Service reported 1-2 inches of rain in the area, with wind gusts reaching 50 miles per hour.
As we go into [Monday night], we're gonna start to see the effects of this system begin to wind down as the storm moves out further into the Atlantic [Ocean],
said Meteorologist Dominic Ramunni, noting that coastal areas were most affected.
