Petition to Stop Revocation of Swedish Permanent Residence
A petition calling on the Swedish parliament to reject a proposal to revoke permanent residence permits has received 40,000 signatures in just two weeks.
The proposal is "deeply unjust and damaging"
The petition was launched by Hussain Momadi, a 26-year-old man who came to Gotland as an unaccompanied child migrant in 2015 and now works in an old people's home.
"I'm one of the people who will perhaps be hit by this,"
said Momadi, expressing concern about the potential impact of the proposal.
