Orbis Educates on Avoidable Sight Loss

International eye care charity Orbis hosted an event for World Sight Day (October 9) at St Pancras London Hotel, gathering influential figures from entertainment and fashion, along with medical experts.

The event featured a pop-up iris photography stand in King’s Cross Station and was attended by notable guests, including author and campaigner Katie Piper, Escape to the Country presenter Sonali Shah, disability activist Dr Amit Patel, and visually impaired content creator Sylvia Chengo.

We’re hugely grateful to Sonali, Nina, Katie and all the wonderful supporters who joined us today to shine a light on avoidable sight loss. Their voices help us to raise vital awareness of the 1.1 billion people living with vision loss, of which 90% of cases are avoidable. - Colman Cawe, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Orbis UK
