Two female residents of an elderly care facility in Tsurugashima, Saitama Prefecture, were confirmed dead after being found bleeding and unconscious.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, with an emergency call from the facility reporting the two women lying injured at around 4:55 a.m.
A former employee of the facility, 22-year-old Toya Kimura, was apprehended on Wednesday morning and admitted to committing the murders, according to the police.

Kimura was arrested on suspicion of murdering 89-year-old Toshiko Kobayashi by stabbing her with a knife at around 2 a.m. on the same day.
He was detained shortly before 9 a.m. on a street about 250 meters from the facility.
