The Duke of Kent, cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II, attended the funeral of Field Marshal Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank at Westminster Cathedral.
He was among the royal representatives who gathered to pay tribute to Lord Guthrie, just weeks after accompanying the royal family to the cathedral for the funeral of his wife, Katherine, Duchess of Kent, who passed away on 4 September at the age of 92.
The tribute comes as the 90-year-old Duke marks his milestone birthday, a poignant day following the death of his wife.
A number of senior royals were represented at the private service, which the Duke attended in a private capacity.
