Farnham Society backs Herald campaign to act on The Woolmead

Farnham Society Backs Campaign to Develop The Woolmead

The Farnham Society has publicly supported the campaign to develop The Woolmead, a long-derelict site in the town.

At the society's inaugural meeting, President Right Reverend Dr Christopher Herbert outlined his vision for Farnham's future, which includes addressing the issue of The Woolmead and Brightwells Yard.

"If our MP Greg Stafford is to be believed that he has received little to no response from Homes England, then I think that is unacceptable. The CEO of Homes England ought to come down to Farnham to see the eyesore that has affected the town for so many years."

The Farnham Society, a civic group dedicated to preserving and enhancing the town's character, has long been involved in local planning issues and is fully behind the campaign to see progress made at The Woolmead.
