In 2010, Argentina debated a law to become the first country in the region to approve gay marriage.
During this time, banners with the slogan "we kids have the right to a mom and a dad" filled the streets.
These slogans echoed the ultra-conservative crusade that had attempted to stop the same right in Spain five years earlier.
"If we participate in this cultural battle and reach the consciences and hearts of the people, the majority will continue to position themselves in favor of life, family and freedoms."
Ignacio Arsuaga, founder of HazteOír, was a key figure in this crusade and traveled to Buenos Aires to join the offensive.
Author's summary: Spain is a key node in ultra-global contagion.
