Seventy-five years have passed since the first Homecoming game, with the country electing a dozen presidents, fighting and debating wars, and music evolving from sock hops to hip hop.
The world of 1950 and that of today’s high school students in 2025 are vastly different, with changes in technology, culture, and society, including the transition from black and white TV and segregated schools.
Despite these changes, Key West High School continues to treasure its hometown traditions, including the annual Homecoming game, which takes place this week.
This year’s game will feature the crowning of the 75th Homecoming queen, voted by her fellow students, during halftime.
