The building once had a banquet hall where people would come to dance. A young girl named Mary fell while dancing, although it's unclear whether she fell down a balcony or stairs. Mary has become a household name for 440 Main.
“Mickey, one of the other former owners, has told us stories that she’s experienced,”
General Manager Amanda Gilich says some staff members have had their own experience with Mary. She notes that when closing the restaurant, she sometimes catches a shadow or feels a weird sensation, but has never had anything appear randomly.
