ATV Adventures: Riding through burned-out woods on the Paiute ATV Trails

We spent our second day at Moore’s Old Pine Inn, eager for adventure after two nights in the "Fallen Dove Brothel" room.

Our day began with a briefing and line-up in front of the original Hotel, where we reviewed the drop system and started with a prayer.

We departed Marysvale on a road south of Liz and Charlie’s RV Park, passing by the Lazy L Ranch, which is said to be the site of the jail that once held Butch Cassidy.

Our ride took us across Marysvale Valley on the Dry Creek Road to the mouth of Dry Canyon, a picturesque canyon with impressive rock walls.

The trail led us up 700 feet out of the valley on switchbacks into the Fishlake National Forest, where we stopped to view a recently discovered waterfall on Dry Creek.

It is hard to separate the truth from folklore.
