Pittsburgh International Airport will open its new terminal to travelers in several weeks, with the $1.7 billion project set to be completed by early November.
The new terminal is the result of over a decade of work and four years of construction, aiming to transform the former US Airways hub into an airport that fits the needs of the local community.
"It's been a lot of work to get here," said Christina Cassotis, CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. "Being in this space feels good,"
The building, designed by Gensler, HDR, and Luis Vidal + Architects, is expected to impress travelers during the Thanksgiving and year-end holiday rush.
