Traffic crashes remain the leading cause of death for teenagers, despite repeated warnings.
Kentucky has recorded the most teenage driving fatalities in the nation for the fourth year in a row. Recent deadly teen-involved crashes in the region have highlighted ongoing safety concerns.
“That’s the thing with driving, you not only have to be, you don’t only have to be in control of yourself, but you have to be vigilant about your surroundings because somebody else driving badly could, you know, lead to deaths as well,”
said Tasneema Shaik, National Vice President of the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) National Student Leadership Council.
This week's focus is on finding better ways to reach teens, including parents setting good examples and schools offering safety programs.
