Affordable Housing Developments in Richmond
The City of Richmond is seeking to develop affordable housing on surplus lots in Manchester and Shockoe Bottom.
"We are going out everywhere to get the very best to come and bid on these particular parcels...We want the best,"
said Merrick Malone, director of the city's Department of Housing and Community Development.
- A 1-acre lot in Shockoe Bottom, next to The Bakery, is one of two lots to be redeveloped.
- The second lot is located at 911-913 Hull St. in Manchester.
Mayor Avula's administration is preparing to issue RFPs to private developers for affordable housing projects on these city-owned lots.
