Downtown Tuscaloosa's New Antioch Pizza Shop
Antioch Pizza Shop, a 50-plus-year-old brand from Illinois, has opened in Downtown Tuscaloosa, Alabama, serving tavern-style thin-crust pizza, Chicago-style deep-dish pies, and desserts.
The shop, located at 409 23rd Avenue in Temerson Square, offers a two-slice special with a drink for $7, a main draw for students and locals.
"I grew up going to Antioch Pizza, buying the two-slice-and-a-drink special that we all offer,"
said franchisee Mike Volkmar, Jr. The shop officially opened on Monday, bringing beloved Chicago-area pizza to West Alabama.
Menu items include tavern-style thin-crust pizza by the slice, deep-dish pies, cannoli, and ice cream.
