Umatilla Mayor Recall Petition Fails
A recall petition against Umatilla Mayor Caden Sipe has failed due to discrepancies in the petition sheets.
According to Umatilla City Recorder Nanci Sandoval, seven of the petition sheets did not match the city-approved circulation sheet, as they stated "Mayor City of Umatilla" instead of "Mayor of Umatilla" as written by chief petitioner Tracy Finck on the approved SEL 353 form.

This decision was made based on the Oregon Recall Manual, which does not allow changes to the petition statement after it has been approved.
